More on Photoshopping your Heads onto an Illustration
On this posting, I am going back to my theme of photoshopped heads onto cards. If you can’t do photoshop, I understand. neither can I, I find it extremely frustrating. Luckily I have my brother, the tech-genius Andy Kaynor, who patiently does it all for me. He is building a site so that people like us can do it ourselves without trying to use photoshop, but more on that later.
Here are some more fun photo shop cards done by Russel, I have already posted few of them in the grown-up section in the Gallery of Cards. I showed you a few he did in a previous posting. Here is another one, this time he has put himself in a choir…a few times. His cards make me laugh so much, mostly because he’s making fun of himself. Cards that make you laugh always work. Evidently, he has some skills with Photoshop as well. Lucky him.

Funny Christmas card with a great idea for photoshopping heads onto an image
To add heads onto an illustration you don’t necessarily need to be good with Photoshop however. People have been cutting out heads for a long time like in this card which I just came across from the 1950’s. This was a cut and paste job, but it’s quite successful.
Everyone says that Photoshop is much easier than actual cutting and pasting, though for me it’s not. I’m hopeless; I’ve tried and tried. That’s why we are developing a section of our site which makes it easy to cut out your heads and put them onto our illustrations.
This card was designed by graphic designer Greg Richardson.
I just love the humor. Isn’t it hysterical? I saw it too late to get it in my book (based on Christmas card designs) , but I contacted him and asked him if he would mind modifying it for our site. Though it will be little bit different, the humor will still be there.
Here is another one which will be available on our site shortly; illustrator David Shepherd did for us.
We have versions with 2-4 kids so that, unless you are John and Kate plus 8, you can probably fit your family in. I love the melting snowman Dave added. He did lots of different cartoons for us. One thing I like about these options is that, to send out a creative card, you won’t need to take the dreaded group photo. Shudder. Contact me and ask me to send you a few ideas if this style of card interests you. Hurry! Christmas is coming soon….
