You Can’t Get A Group Shot of Your Family?
You can’t get a good group shot of your family? Neither can I. Either the kids aren’t in the same place at the same time, or they aren’t in the same mood at the same time. I don’t know which is worse, teenagers or toddlers. Last year I had a big fight with my daughter over taking the group photo; if you look closely there is a big scowl on her face. The year before that, there was that fight with my son. And then there’s the problem of never having your camera charged and, of course, knowing how to use it properly when the perfect shot presents itself. The other day I saw a perfect shot of one of my kids, pressed the button and instead of taking the shot I turned off the camera. Wrong button. Perfect shot missed. With photo taking skills like mine, it’s good to have the option of a collage card, one card with lots of different pictures on it. That way you don’t need to worry about getting that one perfect picture and I will do ANYTHING rather than try to get that perfect group shot.
I sent out this card below years ago when I had lots of great individual photos (done by a professional photographer of course), but no great group photos. I love making creative cards, but I also loved so many of the pictures the photographer had taken that I didn’t know what to do. In the end I settled upon being creative with the layout of the card. I thought it came out rather well, so we have designed a few versions of cards like this tree which you can upload your own photos onto here on the site.

Another great idea similar to this is to use personalized stamps placed on a card in the shape of a tree. Each stamp could have a different photo. How cute would that be? You can get personalized stamps at photo.stamp.com. If anybody does this please show me! I would love to see this idea implemented.
I am also designing some other collage cards like this one below. I thought this would be good for people like my mother-in-law who likes to get pictures of all three of her children’s families on it. Since we all live in different countries, multiple photos on one card are a must for her.

But I also wanted to design some cards on which people could use ANY old picture of their kids. Everyone has at least one good headshot of their child. I have a whole series of cards where you can upload your kid’s pictures into the ‘O’ of words, like in this one below.

I tried to come up with as many words as I could which have different numbers of ‘O’s in them so people with one, two, three or four family members could be used in the card. For example this one below uses three photos.

I also used the word “JOY” and “LOVE” as well in some other designs; obviously they use one picture. My kids are hoping that I will take one of these options this year, and I might, though I still am in a tizzy trying to decide what to do. In case you’re in a tizzy as well and are worried about taking that dreaded group photo over Thanksgiving weekend, I hope some of these designs help. Your teenagers, toddlers and maybe even your husbands would appreciate it. I know mine would!
